Because of the extensive industrial and civil application of glass fiber-reinforced plastic (GFRP), large volumes of production scrap make waste management a growing concern. Moreover, the volume of waste is expected to boom in the coming years with products having reached the end of their life.
As of now, there is no environmentally friendly and financially viable technology for GFRP recycling available. Around 90% of this waste is sent to landfill while the rest is incinerated.
GFRP waste can now be recycled in a profitable way through a revolutionary process developed by our partners, that is safe for the environment and does not produce hazardous by-products. This allows reactive liquids and fibers to be efficiently recovered and eliminates the need for landfilling and incineration.
This process results in up to 99% of glass fiber yield and up to 80% of reactive liquid yield.
